What is HydroCAD?

HydroCAD is a Computer Aided Design tool used by Civil Engineers for modeling stormwater runoff. It provides a wide range of commonly used hydrology and hydraulics capabilities, including SCS, NRCS, and SBUH runoff hydrology, Rational Method with automatic IDF curves, and local rainfall data or built-in rainfall library support. The tool enables easy management and reporting of multiple rainfall events, unlimited hydrograph points, and hydrograph routing through ponds and reaches.

HydroCAD offers advanced features such as coupled ponds with automatic tailwater, automatic hydraulics and culvert calculations, progressive dam breach simulations, and automatic pond storage calculations including embedded storage chambers. It also supports automatic layout and modeling of underground storage systems, land-use analysis, pollutant loading calculations, and built-in CAD watershed import. The software runs on any Windows PC without requiring other CAD software, making it ideal for studies using TR-20, TR-55, or SBUH methods.
