What is Which Face Is Real?
Which Face Is Real is an initiative from the University of Washington's Calling Bullshit project, created by Jevin West and Carl Bergstrom. This interactive tool presents users with two images, one a real human photograph and the other a computer-generated face created using StyleGAN technology from thispersondoesnotexist.com. The goal is to test and improve the user's ability to differentiate between authentic images and AI-generated fakes.
The real photographs are sourced from the FFHQ dataset, comprising Creative Commons and public domain images. The project serves as an educational resource to raise awareness about the capabilities of generative AI and the potential for misinformation.
