What is Tabserve?
Tabserve operates as a web application that establishes a reverse proxy connection between internet traffic and localhost servers. It leverages a single Cloudflare worker combined with browser-based web workers to create this secure tunnel. This setup provides users with HTTPS URLs on their custom domains that forward traffic to any localhost address, enabling immediate access to local web servers from anywhere.
The service automatically provisions TLS wildcard certificates for unlimited subdomains without requiring DNS propagation delays. Each subdomain maps to a dedicated Durable Object, ensuring security isolation and fault tolerance. The system utilizes Cloudflare's global infrastructure with 300 locations to minimize latency and incorporates Web Application Firewall protection along with HTTP-3 protocol support for optimized performance.
