What is BeatAPI?
BeatAPI is a capability layer that connects AI agents and applications to a broad catalog of AI models, social data platforms, and web tools through a single API key. It supports popular agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, and Muse, along with any client that can make HTTP requests or use the Model Context Protocol. Developers can search the catalog, inspect a capability's input schema and execution mode, and then run it without managing separate vendor accounts, credentials, or bills.
The platform covers text, image, video, and workflow models, alongside public data from platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Reddit, and LinkedIn. Web tools add search, page reading, site maps, and multi-step research. Each run returns a task identifier, a status, and hosted output, and results come back as structured JSON that agents can rank, compare, and cite.

FAQs
-
Which AI agents work with BeatAPI?
BeatAPI works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, Muse, and any client that supports MCP or can make HTTP requests. Each agent has a setup guide on the Integrations page, and applications can call the same API directly. -
How do I connect my AI agent to BeatAPI?
You send your agent one line to set up the BeatAPI skill guide, and it reads the guide and asks for your key. For MCP hosts, you add the BeatAPI MCP server and place your key in the host's secret settings instead of pasting it into chat. -
Do I need a separate API key for each model or data provider?
No. One BeatAPI key and one USD balance cover models, social data, and web tools. There are no per-vendor accounts, separate bills, or provider keys to rotate. -
Does BeatAPI host the images and videos it generates?
Yes. A finished image or video task returns a hosted file URL on the task record, so your agent can hand over a link without additional storage setup. -
What happens if a call fails, and am I still charged?
Data and web calls that fail on BeatAPI's side are not charged. For image, video, and workflow tasks, the price is reserved when the task is accepted and eligible failures are refunded to your balance. Every error also indicates whether a retry can succeed.
