Agent skill
sales-email-sequence
Generate a strategic 20-email sequence for selling online courses, digital products, or programs. Balances education (emails 1-10) with sales (emails 11-20). Based on proven methodology — the bottleneck to purchase is almost always education, not price. Use when user needs a "sales sequence", "email funnel", "launch emails", or "course email sequence".

SKILL.md
Load Context First
Before executing this skill, read the following files from the project folder if they exist:
- USER.md — who the user is, how they think, how they work
- BUSINESS.md — their business, products, positioning, brand voice, content strategy
- ICP.md — their ideal customer, their language, their fears, what makes them buy
- Voice or brand voice skill — look for any installed skill related to voice, tone, or brand voice and apply it automatically
- Any additional context provided by the user in this session
Use all context silently. Do not reference or summarize files unless asked.
Sales Email Sequence Generator
Core Principle
The bottleneck to purchase is almost always an education problem, not a sales problem. Customers don't buy because they don't feel educated enough to make a confident decision — not because of price, credibility, or branding. This sequence solves that by providing massive value upfront, building trust, and systematically addressing objections.
When to Activate
Use this skill when:
- User needs a complete email sales sequence
- User mentions "launch emails", "email funnel", or "sales sequence"
- User is selling a course, digital product, or program via email
- User wants to automate their sales process
Required Information
Gather from context files or ask the user:
Required:
- Course/product name and core offering
- Target audience (3 archetypes: beginner, intermediate, advanced)
- 5-10 specific problems the course solves
- 3-5 desired outcomes students achieve
- Course modules and content overview
- Pricing information
Highly Recommended:
- Founder/creator story (transformation from where target audience is now)
- Student testimonials (especially transformation stories)
- Existing bonuses or ability to create new ones
- Common objections to purchase
The 20-Email Sequence
Emails 1-10: Education Phase (70% education, 30% sales)
Goal: Help the customer become aware of problems and feel empowered to solve them
- Plain Pitch — Direct product introduction with problem/solution/purchase link
- Who This Is For — Define 3 archetypes (beginner / started but stuck / experienced but leveling up)
- 10 Biggest Problems — List problems target customer faces (you know because you had them too)
- 3-5 Desired Outcomes — Paint the picture of life after solving these problems
- Your Story — Show you've been exactly where they are (relatable, not boastful)
- Stop/Start — Things to stop doing + things to start doing instead
- Myths & Faulty Beliefs — Address psychological barriers keeping them stuck
- Quick Tips — Actionable advice even if they don't buy (builds trust)
- Common Mistakes — Warn about pitfalls when trying to solve alone
- Free Templates/Resources — Give tangible resources that demonstrate value
Emails 11-20: Sales Phase (60% sales, 40% education)
Goal: Show specifically how your product helps them + overcome final objections
- Everything Included — Comprehensive walkthrough linking features to problems solved
- Strategic Bonuses — Address top 3 objections with bonus solutions
- Testimonial Roundup — Social proof from happy customers
- One Year from Now — Contrast two futures (with vs. without taking action)
- Deep Dive Testimonial — Spotlight one transformation story
- Tale of Two Archetypes — Fable-style story of two paths (action vs. inaction)
- What's Holding You Back — Direct question with trackable objection links
- Behind the Scenes — Detailed tour showing inside the product
- Disappearing Bonus — Limited-time bonus addressing key objection (24-48hr urgency)
- Disappearing Discount — Last resort discount (only after education complete)
Key Writing Principles
Education Over Sales
- Give away massive value for free — the more you give, the more people want to buy
- Address objections through education, not aggressive selling
- Help customer feel confident in their decision-making ability
Story as Context
- Your story matters when it helps the reader relate to you
- Show "I've been exactly where you are" not "look how great I am"
- Let readers see themselves in your story
Problem-Outcome Link
- Talk about how you help solve their problems to unlock outcomes
- Let customers naturally assume your product is the bridge
- Never blame the customer — blame faulty systems or bad information
Overcome Objections with Bonuses
- Identify the 3 biggest objections preventing purchase
- Create bonuses that specifically address each objection
- Price anchor bonuses to show added value
Deployment Rules
- Frequency: Daily or every-other-day cadence
- Sequencing: Education first (1-10), then sales (11-20)
- Pull on purchase: Remove subscribers from sequence immediately upon buying
- No early discounts: Don't discount before education is complete
- 20 emails works: Most conversions happen after 15-20 emails, not 1-2
Output Format
For each email, provide:
- Subject line (benefit-driven, curiosity-inducing, or direct)
- Preview text (the snippet shown after the subject line)
- Email body (conversational tone, 200-500 words typical)
- CTA (clear next step with link placement notation)
- Strategy note (which principle this email applies)
## Email [X]: [Name]
**Subject:** [Subject line]
**Preview:** [Preview text]
---
[Full email body]
[CTA with link placement]
---
**Strategy:** [Which principle/technique this email uses]
**Send timing:** [Day X of sequence]
Quality Checklist
- All 20 emails produced with subject lines, bodies, and CTAs
- Emails 1-10 are primarily educational (giving value)
- Emails 11-20 systematically address objections and create urgency
- Founder story is relatable, not boastful
- Bonuses address specific objections (not generic extras)
- Urgency is real (disappearing bonus/discount has actual deadline)
- Voice matches context profiles
- Every email has a clear CTA
- No blaming the customer — blame systems, bad info, myths
- Product details are accurate (from user input, not fabricated)
